Muni Seva Ashram, Goraj
New VTC Campus at Maganpura (opened in 2023)

Founded with a singular vision to empower tribal youth, Muni Seva Ashram’s Vocational Training Centre has evolved from a grassroots initiative into a premier institution serving thousands. We bridge the educational gap by specifically catering to students who have faced setbacks in grades 10 through 12 or lack the means to pursue a college degree. By blending industry-relevant technical training with holistic personal development, we transform academic hurdles into professional success, equipping our students with the skills and confidence to build a dignified, self-reliant future in the modern workforce.
It was the year 1978, when our founder, Anuben Thakkar, ventured into a virtually uncharted territory with nothing but divine inspiration from her Guru, Muni Maharaj. She set up a small hut at Goraj, with the noble vision to serve the local tribal communities with proper health, and education facilities. She began by inviting children of tribal communities to come and play at the shelter. With persistent endeavors, she won the trust of the locals, who then began thronging the small shelter to avail basic facilities of treatment and education.
Anuben's divine foresight was swiftly taking shape and the small set-up the middle of undeveloped Goraj, was reborn as Muni Seva Ashram, a place where human lives found care and comfort, regardless of their origin.
Our Story
How the Vocational Training Centre came about

Vocational Training Center – MSA
As we move through 2026, India stands at a pivotal demographic crossroads where its young population—with an average age of just 29—represents both its greatest challenge and its most significant economic advantage. To harness this "demographic dividend," the national mission aims to empower 500 million skilled workers. Muni Seva Ashram (MSA) is at the forefront of this movement, specifically addressing the needs of rural and tribal youth who often fall through the cracks of the traditional academic system.
Our Vocational Training Centre (VTC) is a benchmark of success in Public-Private Partnership, operating in collaboration with the Development Support Agency of Gujarat (DSAG). We provide a critical safety net for students who have faced setbacks in grades 10 through 12 or who find a college degree financially or logistically out of reach. By offering high-quality, employment-oriented training and soft skills development, we bridge the gap between rural potential and industry demand.
The impact of this initiative is tangible. Supported by DSAG and our generous donor network, we have successfully trained over 2,500 tribal students since our inception in 2011(we moved to our modern new campus in 2023). Our 4-to-6-month modular courses focus on high-demand healthcare sectors—including Dialysis, OT, Laboratory, and Pharmacy—as well as industrial and agricultural skills. Furthermore, in line with our commitment to women’s empowerment, 80% of our graduates are young women. As an accredited Skill-India Training Partner under the PMKVY scheme, we continue to transform lives by ensuring that academic hurdles do not limit a student's ability to achieve a dignified, self-reliant future.
